2011 Top High School Basketball Recruits

Austin Rivers (Duke PG) is the top dog in the 2011 high school class. The 6’4 shooting guard can score points. He has a lethal first step that is enhanced by his ability to shoot from 3-point range in the NBA. Media411.com scout Mathew Polacheck says, “Austin Rivers’ shooting range is when he walks into the gym. When the game is on, you want him to make the last shot. This guy is decisive. Oh yeah. .. He can nail you too.”

Mike Gilchrist (Kentucky SF) is a beast. He comes to play every night with his heart and athleticism. Media411.com scout Brett Eidelman says, “Mike Gilchrist is the best rebounder, the best defender and he’s consistent on the offensive end. With a little more range on his shot, Gilchrist will be impossible to control.” He is bullying high school students in NJ, but plays one of the toughest schedules on the No. 1 team in the nation. The SEC better get ready.

Quincy Miller (Baylor PF) might be the most versatile player in this year’s class. At 6’10 he can play winger or power forward. Miller is athletic with NBA size. He has perimeter and post skills. Once he trades his bird chest for grown man muscle, he’ll be a force in the paint. This boy can be as good as he wants. The sky is the limit for him. He’s out all year with a knee injury, but I bet he’ll come back fresher than John Wall’s Dougie.

James McAdoo (North Carolina PF) is a must-see prospect. He is ready for the next level right now. McAdoo is a “natural”. He is fundamentally solid and has the size and strength to make an instant impact. Although McAdoo may not have the most potential in the NBA, he could have one of the biggest impacts as a freshman.

Anthony Davis (Kentucky PF) is also known as one of the most versatile players in the nation. He grew more than 7 inches in the last year to go from a virtually unknown prospect to one of the best. He can play inside and outside. He has all the tools to become the best player in this class. Davis needs a little more time to adjust to his body. Once he enters the gym to throw some steel, he doesn’t know what beast he can turn into.

Marquis Teague (Kentucky PG) is the top consensus point guard in the nation. He is more dangerous on a counterattack than Sarah Palin was on the presidential campaign trail. Teague is lightning fast with the rock. He makes big decisions and has the athleticism and power to finish strong at the rim. He can improve his 3-point shot to become excellent at the next level.

Josiah Turner (Arizona PG) is Media411.com’s most underrated player in this class. Turner’s handling is ridiculous and he’s probably the best passer in high school. He can create opportunities for his teammates or for himself. He has the athleticism to finish at the rim and play good defense. Turner also needs a little more work on his outside shooting to get big.

Bradley Beal (Florida SG) is a pure shooter. He is possibly the best shot in high school. He can use up NBA 3-pointers with ease. Bradley has the complete game to be an elite college player. If he wants to make it to the NBA, he better work on his game than Steph Curry because he’s a 6’3 combined guard in that league.

LeBryan Nash (Oklahoma State SF) is a freak of nature. High school kids shouldn’t be so beastly. At 6’7 with an NBA frame, Nash looks like a 16-year-old Danny Almonte mowing down kids in the minor league world series. He can jump out of the gym and he also has perimeter play. The explorers question his maturity. so they don’t rate him as highly as his physical abilities suggest.
