Introduction of mangosteen fruit

The scientific name for Purple Mangosteen is Garcinia Mangostana from the Guttiferae species. It is native to East Asia. In Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, the fruit is titled “Queen of Fruits”. In French, they called the mangosteen “food for God.”

The fruit, like a baseball, has an external diameter of 3 to 7 cm. When the mangosteen is ripe, you will be able to taste 4-8 segments of snow-white, juicy, soft-fleshed fruit. Mangosteen bark thickness is 6-10mm which contained bitter yellow latex and bark staining juice. How to select the best mangosteen to eat? To select the best fruit to eat, choose those with the highest number of stigma lobes at the apex, as it had more fleshy segments with fewer seeds.
