Oprah Asks Rock Star Legend Billy Joel Some Tough Questions About His Music, Life, Love, And Marriage

Oprah asked rock star legend Billy Joel some really good questions to learn how the successful musician creates such exciting songs. Billy, who doesn’t see himself as a “rock star,” didn’t object to Oprah calling him a legend in his own right, although Joel doesn’t consider himself a high-maintenance celebrity.

When Billy was asked which of his songs are his personal favorites of all time, he mentioned that he regards them all as children, each of whom loves his heart. Joel acknowledged, however, that one day his personal favorite may change under the circumstances.

To my surprise, Oprah pulled out newspaper clippings about three of Joel’s car accidents and asked him if he was a bad driver. Billy said, “I’m not a bad driver, I’m just bad luck.” He then mentioned a French car of his that was a bit uncomfortable to drive considering French-made cars were a bit different.

Billy was very transparent about his old drinking problem and being in rehab, saying it was like being locked up in prison with no access to anything. Being among other drunkards and troubled people gave Joel some comfort and a kind of therapy to deal with his own problems, he acknowledged.

Joel seemed a bit uncomfortable when Oprah mentioned the age difference between him and his wife. Billy Joel married his wife, chef Katie Lee, in 2004, when she was only 23 and he was 54. Katie was only five years older than their daughter.

Oprah asked a bit about Joel’s relationship with his ex-wife and supermodel Christy Brinkley, and Joel said they agreed to get along for the sake of their daughter.

Without a doubt, Katie was the brilliant personality on the couch with Oprah and she did a great job bringing the cameras through her beautiful New York home, during which she often referred to Billy as “my husband” in a way. something strange.

The two hit it off in New York when they discovered each other’s love for food and Billy certainly surprised Katie with some love songs and a lavish romance. Billy laughed about their reunion, when he invited Katie to have a drink with him, “That was one time drinking was helpful.”

Oprah definitely didn’t hold back during this interview. Billy Joel looked and seemed a bit awkward during some of the questions, which seemed like a bystander interrogation to me. I hope he sells a lot of CDs for having to endure that interview.

One question I wish Oprah had asked Katie Lee was, “How did it make you feel being rejected and denied entry to Diddy’s annual White Party?”

Billy Joel’s wife, Katie Lee, was rejected at Diddy’s annual White Party because she was dressed in cream. The hip-hop mogul had a strict white dress code at the end-of-summer party at his Long Island, New York mansion, and made sure his bouncers enforced the rules of fashion.

I think Oprah felt like Billy could handle it considering he’s been around the block a bit compared to his caring young girlfriend. Interestingly, when Oprah asked Billy about any initial opposition to his song “Only the Good Die Young,” Billy said that a little opposition from the Catholic Church helped its popularity with young people and increased sales.

Certainly opposition, persecution, and even a little bad publicity can help fading musicians and celebrities.

I wish Katie and Billy all the blessings of heaven and earth.
