That no one needs to be alone, sun, sand and loneliness, and leave a good clean view (3 poems)

That no one needs to be alone

His voice is heard throughout the land.
We just… we heard him call.
So… patiently… sits and waits
for us to understand
That the only thing he seeks is to be known,
To know that he is here.
We just need to respond in our own way,
That no one needs to be alone.

Sun, sand and loneliness

I walked into the desert…the canyon walls, my only companion.
The wind was still, and so my heart beat with wild abandon.
The warm sun gently caressed my gliding form and played among the white clouds,
Because enthusiasm is encouraged and love for life is allowed.

I whispered “thank you” to the one who knows and hears,
Then he traversed away those sandy miles without a thought of fear.
I am a visitor in time, a child in the desert
Who wants to learn what some may despise and see as loneliness?

But vision is a fragile gift, and given in many ways,
So I have seen a lot of beauty in these beautiful sunny days.
This loneliness fills my cup to flow in sparkling pools,
And sometimes I sing out loud, a lonely happy fool.

Time came and life left… its footprints in the sand,
Leaving shadowed voices not left by beast or man.
Because life has spent its gold coin on treasures left behind,
A tiny grain of ancient sand still etched in my mind.

I wandered through the rich and tall forests, and greenish green hills,
When the waters shone full and cool, and all the world was clean.
Then the beasts came and life buzzed with hoofbeats and roars,
And when I close my eyes again… I can still hear so much more.

Shadows bloom across the rocks as the breeze gently blows,
And the sand fills my tracks in time… the playful provocation of a child.
I stop and look to know my way and read the changing sky,
Because the clouds can come and hide the sun in the blink of an eye.

To know and respect her… this ever-changing land,
And follows the young coyote happily through the arena.
‘Cause loneliness is welcome in a speed-crazed world
And I love wandering… sowing the seed of peace.

I don’t miss the madness of man’s most carefree run,
Because I am part of the sun and sand and loneliness…
Of this wild and sacred place.

And leave a good clean view

Respect for life…in its many forms…begins with caring for all,
All things that walk, stand or fly… all things that grow or crawl.
Such respect… a way of life… begins with open eyes,
Eyes to see and hear and feel… both laughter and tears.

We have an obligation… a gift that each one must find,
To find our greatest service… of heart, action and mind.
The world requires our service… like us, it lives and breathes,
And every thing we do to it… a footprint is what we leave behind.

Every act, thought and speech… no matter what we do,
We do it respectfully with kindness… and leave a good clean view.
