One of my favorite ways to start conversations is to bring up dirty memes. These funny pictures and videos can be a great icebreaker when you’re out with guys. But I also know that dirty short girls aren’t what every guy is looking for. Here are a few of my favorites.
You may have seen the Ermahgerd Girl in one of many places, including the Internet and on T-shirts. You may have also seen the character in a Nerdist music video. This meme has become a cultural phenomenon, with various merchandise and apparel being sold on Etsy. Ermahgerd Girl was created by a Santa Barbara software engineer, who developed a translator of the Ermahgerd language, and a Brooklyn-based artist rendered her in pixels and paint. In 2008, she became a popular choice for Halloween.

The Ermahgerd Girl is based on a photograph of Maggie Goldberger from her awkward teen years. The photograph went viral on the internet thanks to the Ermahgerd meme. In reality, Goldberger is no longer the dirty short girl. Her appearance in the photo was a costume, and she was never embarrassed by it. However, she recently experienced a bit of the dark side of internet fame when a friend’s brother uploaded a picture of her in a bikini on Reddit. Apparently, she is a lesbian.
The Distracted Boyfriend is a dirty short-girl meme has been circulating since 2009. The original poster, Ernie Smith, tweeted an image of his girlfriend that resembled the infamous image, and the picture was quickly shared on Twitter. The image went on to receive more than 200,000 retweets and 566,000 likes. After the viral spread of the image, Buzzfeed and Daily Dot published stories on the subject. Another user, @j47di, re-photoshopped the image with a template, and the result was a viral sensation. It has since gained over 700 retweets and 400 likes.
The image that inspired the meme is an original painting by a 1761 artist named Joshua Reynolds. The picture depicts a man looking backward at another woman. The image has received critical acclaim and various spin-offs. In July 2017, a Hungarian government used the image for a campaign promoting childbirth. However, this campaign was controversial and received a lot of mockery.
