Get a heated cat bed for cold days

It is a common misconception that all animals can keep warm under any conditions, simply because they have fur that we do not have. This can be a deadly assumption for our favorite pets, as they are just as vulnerable to the effects of heat and cold as we are. On a hot day and under most circumstances, your cat should be able to find a shaded area or moderately cool spot to help regulate her body temperature. On a cold day, your cat has nothing but its fur and the warmth you provide.

It’s a much better idea to get them a heated cat bed, which comes with a warranty, than to just throw a blanket on the floor and hope it works. A heated cat bed will also give you the option of turning down the temperature if you have to go on vacation or spend several hours of the day away from home working. Most good units will come with a safety-rated heating element that is encased in comfortable bedding material.

You don’t necessarily need to break your bank and buy the most expensive heated cat bed on the market, but it’s not a good idea to buy the absolute cheapest either. While most of the bedding in any pet bed will be made from common materials used to prevent your cat from ripping the bed to shreds – the heating elements used in “Bargain Barn” units may not They don’t last long and certainly won’t give your favorite kitty the precious warmth it deserves.

The last consideration should be finding a heated bed that has adjustable settings. Low, medium, and high settings would be ideal, but look for one that has at least two settings so you can adjust the bed for your cat’s maximum comfort.
