King Toledo of Peru, vs El Perro (The Hero Dog) Poem and Commentary

King Toledo of Peru vs. the dog

[The Hero dog]

Here is my new poem about the Hero of Peru, I hope that the King of Peru, Toledo, does not get mad, because the new hero has taken his throne away from him for a few weeks, the center of attention I mean. But before I give you the poem, I’ll just update you: The Hound, who has a name, ‘Lay Fun,’ as I understand it, was a guard dog on duty and killed a thief. And to the dismay of the public, the government, and Toledo is the government in Peru, they wanted to crucify him, but some group raised money and lawyers, and saved the dog from his fate, to the status of national hero of the month. This, of course, diverted the attention of the King of Peru, which Toledo, who is on TV 7/24, I believe. I doubt that Sipán has received as much attention as this little one; I’m not saying he’s a bad king, he’s an Inca so I know better, except, he could be roasted alive for writing this. Also, he likes freedom of expression and Americans, some attributes that are not abundant in South America today, so I give him credit and applaud. But on the other hand I think his wife (who is out of control most of the time) ran off with a bunch of mummies to Paris or London or somewhere to collect before the king relinquishes his throne in a few days . . So, having said all this, here is my little poem, dedicated to King Toledo:

E Dog – the hero [of Peru]

There is a hero in Peru these days,

The Dog, ‘Lay fun’ they say

(I think it’s a he)–He killed a

Thief, I hear say, and gone

On trial the other day, for dog

Massacre they say.

The Republic of Peru, took

A booth, and the lawyers saved his

Dog, hide from man:

Now he is the hero of Peru,

I thought this could only happen

In the United States, I was deceived.
