Kitchen Sink Designs – The Different Types Of Kitchen Sinks

There is a wide variety of kitchen sink designs available. These styles range from various heavy-duty applications to non-heavy-duty applications. There are some that are installed below the surface of the countertop. This style is called bottom mount or bottom mount. The design of this sink is that the material of the countertop is visible in the hole of the countertop.

This style is typically applied with silicone-based waterproof joint sealants. This is necessary because this type of sink is attached to the bottom of the material. The advantage of this design is that it gives a medieval style to the kitchen. This aspect will give a more modern style to the kitchen and will enhance the quality of the environment.

Another style is top mount or self rimmed sinks. This design has holes in the same shape that are cut into the countertop or the main material. The common type of cutter used to cut this material is a jigsaw cutter or other appropriate cutter. When this type of sink is clamped into the hole, a closed seal formation is observed on the counter surface.

A style of a kitchen sink is a finished and decorated type. This is known as a vessel sink or freestanding sink. The sides of this design are artistically decorated and snap together easily when surface mounted to the furniture. Due to its elegant appearance, this style of sink has become so famous among bathroom designers. In addition, the wide range of materials and finishes that it has make this type of sink a great asset.

The other type of sink design is solid surface plastic. This style of kitchen sink will allow the sinks to be like the plastic material of the countertop. The advantage of this sink is that it can be easily glued to the underside of the countertop. This will make the sink seam invisible, thus reducing dirt buildup in the seam and on the countertop. When the joint is polished, it will create a finish and invisible appearance.

The other style of sinks is the farmer’s sink and the Belfast sink. The farmer’s sink is a deep sync type with the front already finished. Meanwhile, the Belfast sink is a sink that has an overflow like a dam. This type of kitchen sink features large ceramic sinks with the conventional visual appearance. On the other hand, the farmhouse sink sits above the countertop, unlike the Belfast sink which sits below work surfaces.
