What are angels? Angelic Guidance Explained
Angels are making their presence felt everywhere.
Once I began to open myself to the attraction of the angelic realms
Little reminders are calling my attention along the way.
What is an angel?
There are many definitions of angels that people have used to describe these heavenly beings or even to refer to angels on earth.
Let’s take a look at some descriptions I’ve found:
An angel is:
~ a force of light, many different types, all working for a higher power
~ a celestial being who acts as an intermediary between heaven and earth
~ a messenger of deities, who unite God and man
~ a kind and lovable person; someone who manifests kindness, purity, and selflessness
~ a divine or semi-divine being who can work with humanity for various purposes
~ a personification of the concept of holiness
~ the light of truth, wisdom, guidance, an upcoming birth or death, literally or figuratively
~ an androgynous being of a light and rapid vibration in a high spiritual hierarchy
~ a spirit helper for humanity
~ winged, luminous and closest messengers to God, All That Is
~ a high spiritual being appointed by God, Ultimate Source, All That Is to guide, protect and help us, God’s Creation
Angels in religions:
Throughout history, religions and spiritualities have embraced angelic beings among themselves. the genus “Angelus Occidentalis”
is an umbrella term used for a number of angelic species within Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Zoroastrianism.
The word of God is believed to be communicated through these heavenly messengers who serve his will.
The Swedish mystic Swedenbourg once said:
“I know very well that many will say that no one can speak with spirits and angels while living in the body;
Many say that everything is fantasy, others that I tell such things to gain credibility,
while others will make other kinds of objections.
But none of these deter me:
because I have seen, I have heard, I have felt”
Definition of my angels:
I personally feel that angels are in fact messengers from a higher realm, spiritual beings that connect with humans on earth when the human is ready to connect.
Angels can take forms that are easily recognized and identified by the one receiving an angelic vision, forms that are not frightening, forms that are unique to each individual experiencing them.
I see it this way: an angel is energy, rapidly vibrating, that is essentially invisible to the human eye. However, the angels are able to slow down this vibration so that it appears to the (rare) naked human eye or the third “inner eye”.
angels and the brain
Imagine “seeing” an energy that is clearly moving, swaying back and forth, if we see this vision, then our left brain immediately tries to analyze and categorize this “vision” based on what it previously knows about such forms.
So left brain categories: Movement = Flying = Wing
Imagine “seeing” shine, light, luminescence, eternal radiance
So left brain categories: Light = Luminescence around object/energy = Halo
The human brain has a need to compartmentalize, especially the left side.
If the brain gathers its given images, analyzes them, then it is left with wings and a halo around a body of energy.
This can now be easily associated and then labeled “Angel”, stored for future reference in the big bag of the brain.
When we come across a similar form, we can instantly recognize it, give it a label, give it a name, call it an Angel.
The angels are present
To me, angelic beings come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, showing up in whatever way I need to see, hear, or feel at that particular moment.
I don’t have all the answers about angel definitions, just an incessant curiosity to learn more about angelic beings, welcoming those who come to visit me and share what I know with equally curious people.
